Having won numerous prizes at every Sri Lankan awards show, including the SLIMs, Sumathi Awards, Reggie Candappa Awards and the Chillies, it is safe to say that Dileep is one of Sri Lankas top Sinhala writers.

Prior to joining advertising, Dileep was an accomplished author who had two books published. Dileep also worked as a journalist as well as in the public sector. Dileeps first advertising agency was Holmes Pollard & Stott and this was followed by stints at Q&E and Bates Asia. He has been at Leo Burnett since 2006.

During his time in advertising, Dileep has produced work for almost every major brand in Sri Lanka including Sri Lankan Airlines, Munchee, Sri Lanka Telecom, Dulux, Cargills, Mobitel, Nestle, and Hutch. One of Dileeps most prominent pieces of work was the Child Soldier campaign for Unicef for which he wrote a song. Dileeps work has consistently been praised for its craftsmanship and its ability to connect with Sri Lankans from all walks of life. Dileep also has substantial experience in the finance sector. He has developed strong campaigns for many large institutions like HNB, BOC, Seylan Bank, DFCC, HDFC, Sampath Bank, Ceylinco and NDB.
